There’s a rhythm in the events world that many of us know too well.
The surge of adrenaline before a big show.
The high of seeing it all come together.
The crash that comes after.
The void that follows the buzz.
The cycle that repeats before we’ve even caught our breath.
It’s addictive, in a way, that intensity, that purpose, that sense of doing something big.
But there’s a cost, and most of us are paying it with nervous systems that haven’t had a proper rest in years.
This is why the power of pause matters.
From Monday 23rd to Friday 27th June, we’re inviting the entire events industry to press pause — not just symbolically, but intentionally — during Event Wellbeing Week 2025.
This year’s theme is one that hits close to home for so many of us:
“The Power of Pause: Self-Love as a Radical Act”
Because in a world where productivity is worshipped, where our value is often tied to how many meetings we book or how long we can stay on our feet without a break, pausing becomes revolutionary.
It becomes a refusal.
A boundary.
A reclaiming of what it means to be human in an industry that so often pushes us to perform like machines.
Why event professionals need to learn to pause
We live in a state of extremes:
⚡ Highs driven by cortisol and adrenaline
💥 Lows filled with depletion, migraines, and emotional burnout
🧠 Nervous systems that are constantly in fight, flight, or perform mode, and very rarely rest
And while we love what we do, the creativity, the energy, the magic, the truth is, our industry doesn’t always allow us to stop. The show must go on, and we’re expected to go with it.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t choose to pause.
That doesn’t mean we can’t challenge the culture and build something more sustainable, more inclusive, more caring, and starting with ourselves.
It starts with a single moment
Taking part in Event Wellbeing Week isn’t about clearing your schedule or taking a spa day (unless that’s your thing, in which case, go for it), it’s about carving out small moments to breathe.
💡 One quiet tea break
💡 One minute of breathwork
💡 One deep “no” to a meeting you don’t have the capacity for
💡 One conversation with a peer about how you’re really doing
It’s about remembering that your wellbeing is not a bolt-on, it’s not an afterthought, it’s the foundation of your existence.
A week of awareness — a year-long commitment
Event Wellbeing Week is a moment, a signal, a collective breath.
But the work of wellbeing? That’s for every day.
It’s in how we lead teams.
How we build event schedules.
How we care for ourselves on the busiest days, and the quietest ones too.
At EventWell, we’re not just here for the week, we’re here to keep the conversation and the culture shift alive all year round.
So whether you’re a show organiser, freelancer, venue host, supplier or speaker, we invite you to take part this June.
Not just for the industry.
Not just for the movement.
But for you.
Because self-love isn’t selfish.
It’s strategy.
And the power of pause might be the most productive thing you do all year.
