Wellbeing By Design
22nd – 28th June 2026
Wellbeing doesn’t happen by accident. It’s designed.
Event Wellbeing Week 2026 invites event professionals, venues, suppliers, employers and industry leaders to rethink how wellbeing is built into the environments, experiences and cultures we create.
From event design and sensory safety to workplace culture, mental health, neuroinclusion and sustainable performance, this year’s theme – Wellbeing by Design – is about moving beyond wellbeing as an add-on.
Because people thrive when wellbeing is considered from the start.

About Event Wellbeing Week
Event Wellbeing Week is an annual industry-wide campaign created by EventWell in 2017 to champion healthier, safer and more inclusive event environments.
Taking place from 22nd – 28th June 2026, the week brings together event professionals, venues, agencies, suppliers, freelancers, employers and communities to explore practical ways to embed wellbeing into the way we work, plan, design and deliver.
This year, our focus is clear:
Wellbeing by Design
Not as a luxury.
Not as a tick-box.
Not as something added five minutes before doors open.
But as something intentionally designed into every part of the event experience.

What does “Wellbeing by Design” mean?
Wellbeing by Design means creating events, workplaces and industry cultures that actively support people to feel safe, included, regulated and able to thrive.
It asks us to consider:
- How do people arrive, move, connect, rest and recover?
- How do our environments support or overwhelm?
- How do we design for neurodivergent and sensory-sensitive attendees and teams from the beginning?
- How do we build psychological safety into teams, supply chains and leadership?
- How do we create sustainable performance in an industry known for pressure, pace and burnout?
This is about designing better systems, not expecting people to simply cope harder.

Key Focus Areas
Across the week, we’ll explore:
Neuroinclusion by Design
Creating events and spaces that consider sensory needs, communication, wayfinding, regulation, choice and safety.
Mental Health by Design
Embedding psychological safety, early support, healthy boundaries and practical wellbeing approaches into event teams and workplaces.
Event Environments by Design
Looking at layout, crowd flow, noise, lighting, quiet spaces, welfare provision and the full attendee journey.
Workplace Culture by Design
Supporting healthier ways of working across agencies, venues, freelancers, suppliers and in-house teams.
Recovery by Design
Recognising the impact of event delivery, adrenaline, emotional labour and the need for proper rest and decompression.
